About the Phillip Island & South Gippsland Wine Region
Southern Gippsland Wine and Food Trail is well known as a land of dairy farmers, beef producers, cheese makers, fisherman and artisans of all types, the South Gippsland and Bass Coast also boasts many wineries and vineyards.
South Gippsland could be one of Australia's best wine regions you have never heard of!
But this unique cool climate wine district that nestles in traditional rich dairy country with the Bass Strait at the Southern edge and the Strzelecki Ranges to the West has a proud history of family owned and run vineyards and wineries stretching from Phillip Island to the world famous Wilsons Promontory National Park.
Our real difference is the ability to drive from one great cellar door to another through spectacular coastal ridges to rolling green hills, experiencing great hospitality, friendly hosts and of course the perfect glass of handcrafted wines, served with the best of local produce.
This region is now being recognised as an emerging wine industry force, particulary in the production of very high quality varieties such as Pinot Noir, Sparking Shiraz and Chardonnay.
Come and taste the region's wines and food.
